ABOUT ME
Tynia is an attorney in the State of New York who focuses on transactions in music and other entertainment-related practice areas. She is also a professor at the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at LIU, teaching Legal Aspects of the Music Industry. She started her career working at BMI in the performing rights department, where she assisted songwriters, TV/Film composers, music libraries, and publishers with receiving their proper royalties. She then worked as BMI's international relations coordinator; managing its international relationships, agreements, and outgoing distributions to foreign copyright management organizations. During law school, she worked for the legal teams of CD Baby, Downtown Music Services, and Spirit Music Group - where she took part in drafting and negotiating various publishing, digital licensing, and distribution agreements. Tynia is a fierce advocate of music creators' rights and created a YouTube channel that educates music creators on such rights and the music industry. With her experience in the industry, coupled with her desire for change, Tynia is working to provide innovative services that are both creator-centered and meet the traditional standards of the industry in unconventional ways.
